EL PASO, TEXAS– Famous celebrity cartoon actor Speedy Gonzales was arrested on Saturday by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) deportation officers after being tipped off by an anonymous informant.<\/p>\n

Speedy Gonzales, a Mexican<\/a> national, was apprehended as he exited a cheese factory in El Paso that has a long history of hiring undocumented workers.<\/p>\n

The mouse’s temporary work visa had apparently expired, causing him to seek work outside the entertainment industry in an effort to support an alleged cheese habit.<\/p>\n

According to a local police report, Gonzales was seen trying to allude the ICE officer’s trap by running extremely fast while speaking with an exaggerated Mexican Spanish accent with broken English.<\/p>\n

Speedy didn’t make it very far though, thanks in part to ICE’s newly formed Mouse Unit, which uses highly trained cats to seek out and capture illegal alien<\/a> mice.<\/p>\n

Due to Speedy’s high-profile arrest, much speculation has been swirling in news media outlets as to the identity of the individual whose tip led authorities to the apprehension of the yellow sombrero-wearing rodent.<\/p>\n

Many users on Reddit and 4chan claim that the anonymous tipper is none other than fellow Hollywood actor Sylvester the Cat, who has a long history of playing Speedy’s regular nemesis both on and off screen.<\/p>\n

Also arrested with Speedy was his cousin Slowpoke Rodriguez, better known as the “Slowest Mouse in all Mexico,” with both mice<\/a> expected to remain in ICE custody pending their removal proceedings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
